This series consists of application files for garden areas (GA) in District K [Daly River Goldfield] area in the Northern Territory. The file cover has date application received, subject (name of mine or person names in application) locality, area of claim, dates for objection, hearing, recommended, approved or refused, gazetted, posted; later file covers have application plotted, map number added and handwritten notes on file cover document if forfeited, cancelled, suspended or withdrawn. Each file contains the application for registration of a mining tenement other than a lease with a sketch of the area being applied for, any objections received, and whether the application is approved or not, correspondence to and from the Mining Registrar or Director of Mines. File number GA 8K includes an application and objection to the application and a copy of an Order made by the Supreme Court prohibiting the Chief Mining Warden from proceeding with hearing an application for Garden Area No. 8K. File number GA 7K is missing. The inspecting surveyor, as mandated by the Warden's Court, has reported for applications GA 1,2,3 K.
